The purpose of TikTok’s website is to provide individuals with an intriguing and eye opening experience so that they choose to indulge into the full experience and download the app. The website represents what TikTok is all about, showcasing the most popular videos of the week and highlighting both the success that one can have as a TikTok creator and the entertainment that one can have as a TikTok viewer. The intended audience is individuals who do not currently have the app or brands who are seeking brand deals. I do think that the site reaches its intended audience because individuals who have TikTok often view videos through the app. Along with this, individuals who do not already have the app often see TikToks on their website through promotions and brand deals that showcase it on other platforms, websites, and apps. TikTok's main audience is individuals under the age of 40, with most being teenagers and young adults, and I think that this is also the intended audience from the website because people this age are most likely to download the app. This site is not very useful to me because I have the TikTok app downloaded, so I turn to the app when I want to watch videos. However, the site does appeal to me because the website highlights the TikTok experience as something that is appealing. The TikTok website has a dark background with red and white accents which makes it look intense and immersive, something that is very appealing to young viewers. In addition, the website is full of interactive popular videos that encourage someone to want to see more and focus on the popular content displayed on the app. Furthermore, the website uses bandwagon appeal by displaying the most popular videos so people want to see more and be in the know on the famous content. I would encourage others to visit the website because I really enjoy having TikTok and I think the website does a great job showcasing the app. This site could be improved by displaying statistics that inform the viewers more about the website, to inform brands looking for ambassadors and brand deals and individuals looking for content to doom scroll.
